Interview: Tiffany Craig on Wymap People’s 25 Years of Success

For almost 25 years, Wymap People (formerly Bailey Personnel) has been the trusted link between skilled professionals and some of the world’s leading airlines.

Tiffany Craig, Wymap Group’s Head of Strategy and Growth, recently shared insights with Freight & Trade Alliance’s ‘Across Borders’ publication to discuss the company’s growth, its unique role in aviation recruitment, and how Wymap is setting new benchmarks in the industry.

A legacy of aviation expertise

Established in 2001 and rebranded as Wymap People in 2020, Wymap People has cemented its position as the only recruitment specialist exclusively dedicated to the aviation sector.

“Airlines, freight forwarders, and cargo handlers need skilled staff – sometimes they need an entire team on a casual or contract basis. We make that happen for them,” says Tiffany.

“We know aviation inside and out. We know every role in the aviation supply chain, the skillset, experience, compliance, and accreditations needed to ensure the job is done right.”

This expertise has driven Wymap People’s expansion across major Australian and New Zealand cities. It’s this connectivity and on-the-ground knowledge that allow us to anticipate and quickly respond to our clients’ recruitment needs.

“It means that from the start, we understand what we need from applicants. It cuts time and our clients know that our standards are high.”

What sets Wymap People apart?

Wymap People’s success lies in our niche knowledge. With nearly 25 years in the business, our team is well-practised in finding, onboarding, and deploying the right talent for the major airlines.

The post-COVID landscape has reshaped the aviation industry – it’s more dynamic and diverse – and we can seamlessly adapt.

Not only has there been a growing appetite for permanent placements, rather than casual or contract, but recent growth has seen Wymap People diversify into white-collar recruitment. Roles in automation, executive management, finance, and IT are now part of Wymap’s portfolio, alongside traditional operational placements.

“We’re also seeing more women enter the industry, especially in white collar roles,” explains Tiffany. “This is a good shift, and the more we can demonstrate the diversity of opportunities that an aviation career can offer, the better.”

Delivering on the “make it happen” promise

Wymap’s “make it happen” tagline is more than a philosophy – it’s a commitment.

From strict compliance to tailored onboarding, every Wymap candidate is trained and equipped to adopt this mindset of taking initiative and going the extra mile.

“We want every team member to be empowered to meet our clients’ needs while adhering to the high safety and efficiency standards that Wymap is known for.”

Our ability to scale quickly is a key part of this commitment. When one of the world’s largest air service providers required 250 staff in a short timeframe, Wymap delivered. We managed the entire recruitment process from our premises allowing the client to seamlessly continue with their day-to-day operations.

“Adapting to what the client needs and where they need us in the process and having that ability to scale is what makes us different,” Tiffany explained.

“We provide high quality people solutions that work, and we do it well.”
